PROGRAMME 2007-8

The Friends of Turner's House organise an annual programme of lectures, visits and gatherings throughout the year. These include our Spring and Autumn lectures, Summer Garden Party and Christmas Party. Visits are also arranged to sites of interest with a connection to Turner. 

 

In March 2007 the Friends enjoyed a private view of the exhibition “Soane and Turner: Illuminating a Friendship” at the Sir John Soane Museum in London (seen here).

Programme 2007-8

20 March 2007: AGM and Spring Lecture: “Turner and the Royal Society for the Arts, Industry and Manufacture” given by Dr. David Allan.

29 March 2007 Private View - Sir John Soane Museum, London  - Exhibition on “Soane and Turner: Illuminating a Friendship, curated by Helen Dorey.

6 May 2007: Tour of Sandycombe Lodge, Twickenham, Turner’s house, by kind permission of Prof. Harold Livermore.

6 June 2007:  Summer Garden party - at Orleans House Gallery, Twickenham in  the stable block.

15 September 2007: Tour of Sandycoombe Lodge, Twickenham, by kind permission of Prof. Harold Livermore. 

24 October 2007: Autumn Lecture: “Turner and Petworth” given by Angela Cox, Venue: Hyde Room, York House, Twickenham.

5 December 2007: Christmas Party, Chairman's House, Montpelier Row, Twickenham.

11 March 2008: Spring Lecture:"A Golden Age of Watercolour" given by Ann Clement; 8.00pm, preceded by AGM at 7.15pm. Venue: the Hyde Room, York House, Richmond Road, Twickenham.

Notes

The Autumn and Spring Lectures are free for Friends. Guests are welcome at lectures for a fee of £3.  Ticketed events are for members only due to space and number restrictions but any spare places will be made available to non-members in the week before the event. Applications for tickets are distributed with the Friends' newsletter.
